Launching Something New

Sometimes change breeds change.

My wife and I have had many opportunities to make a unique contribution to people’s lives around the world and in various roles and life stages. It’s easy to fall into the limits and parameters of defined roles. We adapt to fill the space those boundaries mark out. But rarely do our contributions only fit the spaces that jobs and teams assign to us.

There’s a point where the learning and transformation of a season defined by change longs to be put to use, stewarded and multiplied, beyond our normal contributions. That’s what Christine and I are excited to do more here through Virtue Connect as a site and in this season of our lives, wherever the doors open for us to minister and bless others. We’re not making a vocational or organizational change. We’re just giving additional expression to some of what we are passionate about most!

One catalyst for this new website, Virtue Connect, is my new book, When it Takes More Faith to Come Back: Trusting God in Re-entry. The book is an expression of the above – a delivery system for the hard-earned insights and wisdom related to our spiritual formation, leadership development, and resilience in the hard work of transition. In this case, it relates to the context of cross-cultural re-entry, though many who have gone through major cultural adjustment or any major transition might relate to a lot of the themes.

This site aims to help us launch this book, born from our own struggles and spiritual journey, and to continue providing a place for us to offer our unique voice and perspective on leader formation and development in the key moments of life. If you’re new to us, thanks for checking us out.

Let’s stay connected!
